Rachel Bryant Barton was born November 5, 1932 in Smith County, MS. She passed away peacefully in her home and went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 17, 2022.
She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Rachel was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Adaton Baptist Church.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, C. S. Barton; and her son, Michael Barton.
She is survived by her sons, Rick Barton of Starkville, MS, Stephen Barton (Sheryl) of Sterling Heights, MI, and Mark Barton of Bethesda, MD; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home. Rev. Hal Selby will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Wake Forest Cemetery in the Dancy community of Mantee.
