Okolona-Robert Lee Walls, Sr., 84, met his Creator on Friday afternoon, November 11, 2022 after sustaining fatal injuries from an automobile accident in Shannon. Robert was born on July 16, l938 in Chickasaw County to the late James Jefferson Walls and Mary Etta Jaco Walls. A lifelong Chickasaw Countian, Robert worked all his life in the furniture industry. He spent well over 35 years with Foamex in Okolona and Shannon. After retiring there, he joined his family working at Walls Furniture Supply. Never one to shy away from work, he was actively cutting yards for the public at his death. A devout Christian, Robert loved worshiping the Lord and was an active, faithful member of the New Freedom Full Gospel Church in Okolona. He loved God’s creation and being in it as much as possible. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always grew a splendid garden each year. Robert loved the Ole Miss Rebels. A quiet, easy going soul, Robert revered his family and lived a full life devoted to God and his Kingdom, where he now resides eternally. He will be missed!!
A service celebrating his life will be held at 3 PM Sunday, November 13, 2022 from the New Freedom Full Gospel Church in Okolona (304 Monroe St.) with Bro. Randy Parchman officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona. Visitation for the public will be from 1 PM-service time on Sunday. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona is honored to be serving their friends.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Harrison Walls of Okolona; his only son and namesake, Robert L. “Robbie” Walls, Jr. and wife, Lynsie of Houlka; two grandchildren, Madison Grace Walls Moore and husband, Avrey of Dorsey and Carson Cooper of Houlka; his siblings, Earnest Walls of Okolona and LaDale Walls of Pontotoc, Ruby Jean Hood of Okolona, Sue Staten of Tupelo, Julie Whitehead of Nettleton and Margaret Jean Fowler of Okolona; numerous nieces and nephews and other near relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Malinda Walls who died in May 18, 2022 and his siblings, Linda Walls Hood and Delane Walls, who died 3 weeks ago to the day and hour.
Pallbearers will be Michael Fowler, Todd Wicker, Brad Walls, Michael Alexander, Avery Moore and , Tommy Fairweather and Carson Cooper.
