Cecil Roy Nabors

Cecil Roy Nabors, age 83, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS. He was born August 25, 1939 to Noah Oscar and Lillie Ward Nabors. Cecil was a standout basketball player at Houlka High School and attended Itawamba Junior College and the University of Mississippi. He was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses throughout his life. Cecil was a member of the Union Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed coaching his sons in basketball, sports and singing in gospel groups.

Services will be Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Pardee officiating, burial will follow in the Camp Ground Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Gaston; sons, Michael Kevin Nabors (Stacy) and Jason Lee Nabors (Eleanor); and six grandchildren, Drew Nabors, Bryce Nabors, John Nabors, Elle Nabors, Elaine Nabors and Krystal Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Roberta Johnson Nabors; a son, Jeffrey Noah Nabors; and two sisters, Mary Bloodworth and Mavis Mitchell and five brothers, Homer Nabors, Travis Nabors, Walter Nabors, James Melvin Nabors and Roel Nabors.

Pallbearers will be Drew Nabors, Bryce Nabors, John Nabors, Jonathan Nabors, Sherwyn Nabors, Travis Nabors and Jeremy Nabors. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Higgins, Chad Higgins and T.J. Higgins.

Visitation will be Monday from 12 to 2 PM at the funeral home.
