Margaret also known as Tincie graduated from Jericho high school in 1946. During that time each cotton season she would go to school half of a day and pick cotton the other half. She also played basketball and her mother made all 4 girls beautiful dresses for special occasions. After graduation she worked in Son McGees store.

She married June 13, 1948 and immediately moved to Washington D.C. where her husband worked. She had several jobs but ended up spending most of her time at the Arlington, VA county school board. She and Joel showed flowers and canned goods at Virginia State fairs, winning several blue ribbons. They moved to Denver in 1969 and retired back to MS in 1972. She and her sister opened a children’s shop in Baldwyn where they loved spending time together and visiting families from Baldwyn.

She was one of the hardest working people around mowing her lawn with a push mower well into her 80’s. She sewed for herself and her children and did beautiful cross stitching pieces, loved reading her bible and loved her church where she was involved in Bible studies. She loved to sing in the senior choir, working in her flower beds and everything pink.

She took great care of her family and loved them dearly, she also loved their friends, many of whom called her granny. She was always ready to go anywhere, you almost did not have to ask which led to trips to all 50 states.

She leaves behind her daughter Lynn Collier, grandchildren, Kacy Dixon (Patrick) Andrew Halliwell, sister, Billie Poteet, brother, Bobby Copeland, daughter-in-law, Verna Butler, Great grandchildren, Hayes, Lily and Annie Dixon, nieces & Nephews , Steven Ryder (Susie), Timmy Poteet, Kim Sullivan (Clayton), great nieces and nephews and many friends.
