Joseph Allen Downs

Joseph Allen Downs, 78, passed away April 15, 2023, at Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Booneville. He was born July 25, 1944, to Almos and Dimple Downs. He retired from NAPA Auto Parts after many loyal years of service. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing softball, dominoes, gospel music, and loved his family very much.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Cagle and Bro. Marty Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his three sons, Greg, Bryan and Marty (Vickie) Downs; one brother, Wade Downs; one sister-in-law, Margie Woolum; three grandchildren, Alyce (Mark) Jennings, Mary (Michael) Dooley and Julie (Dave Dillon) Stieber; eight great-grandchildren; a special niece, Carla (Ken) Woolum; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Downs; his parents, Almos and Dimple Downs; one brother, Jack Downs; his father and mother-in-law, Major and Omie Maness; three brothers-in-law, Jasper and James Maness, and Earl Woolum; one sister-in-law, Sandy Maness; one niece, Jackie Moorman; and one nephew, Mitchell Hatfield.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
