Judy Lucille Boykin, passed away on May 19, 2023. She was born on September 29, 1933 in Williamson County, Tennessee to the late Samuel “Bug” Nalls and Lizzie Proctor Nalls.
Judy was a resident of Starkville, MS since 1972. She was self-employed as a childcare provider for many years taking care of so many special children in Starkville. Judy was very active and enjoyed visiting the beach and the mountains often. She was a member of Adaton Baptist Church and loved sitting in “her seat” every Sunday. She was a special lady with many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Ben A. Boykin; her daughter, Teresa Bassett; her son, Johnny Wilsford Percey; three brothers, Jack Nalls, Vernon “Toy” Nalls and Jimmy Nalls; five sisters, Lola “Mutt” Roberts, Nellie “Cindy” Hughes, Gracie Wilsford, Marie Hutcherson and Catherine Rennick; her granddaughter, Brittney Bassett; her great-granddaughter, Lexi Bassett and her great-grandson, Chris Perry Benson.
She is survived by her sons, Billy Walker (Lucy) of Nashville, TN, Chuck Bassett of Starkville, MS, Michael Bassett (Becky) of Starkville, MS, and Jessie Bassett of Oxford, MS; her daughter, Rebecca Bassett of Alexandria, LA; granddaughters, Nacole Cumberland, BreAnn Bassett, Cassie Bassett, and Presley Bassett; and grandson, Hatcher Bassett; nephew, Harry Hughes (Diane); niece, Shelley Donegan and numerous other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Adaton Baptist Church in Starkville, MS, with the visitation preceding the service at 10:00 a.m.
