Ellen Marie Mayo Allen, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at her home in the Little Brown Community from an extended illness. Ellen was born in New Site, MS on January 29, 1942, to Eddie and Irma Wilemon Mayo. She worked at Blue Bell in Booneville until it closed and retired from Parker Hannifin. She grew up attending Little Brown Free Will Baptist Church where she played the piano during her teenage years. For the past 46 years, Ellen attended First United Pentecostal Church in Booneville with her husband and family. She enjoyed feeding her hummingbirds, cooking, tending her flowers, playing the piano, singing, reading the Bible, and spending time with family and church friends. Her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed keeping “her babies” and spending time with her family. Every holiday, she loved gathering all 44 family members at her house for family time and a home-cooked meal.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church in Booneville with Bro. Bryan Hargett and Bro. Jonathan Soden officiating. Burial will be in Little Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday Evening from 5:00 until 9 P.M. at the church.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Allen; four children, Tyron Allen (Karen), Lisa Chase (Tim), Kevin Allen (Teresa Shouse), and Stevie Allen (Melissa); two sisters, Rathel Young (Dave) and Mathel Ambrose (Ralph); nine grandchildren, April Wilbanks (Matt), Dewanna Tolar (Adam), Sheila Smith (Dustin), Bryan Hargett (Amanda), Natalie Thomas (Wesley), Candace Allen (Andrew “Bubba” Jones), Cody Hargett, Hunter Allen (Abbie), and Trace Allen; sixteen great-grandchildren, Michael Peyton Eldridge, Maleah Wilbanks, Makenzie Eldridge, Colton Holloway, Emma Wilbanks, Caden Thomas, Isabella Garvin, Reid Hargett, Brayden Allen, Zaidee Hargett, Turner Smith, Emery Hallman, Livia Thomas, Jack Wilbanks, Jocie Bell Smith and Jackson Tolar; Two bonus great- grandchildren, Avery Jones and Kaden Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Irma Mayo; a daughter, Hannah Allen; a brother, Randle Mayo; a niece, Tina Mayo; and three nephews, Greg Mayo, David Ambrose, and Gary Lee Housewirth.

Pallbearers are Hunter Allen, Trace Allen, Michael Peyton Eldridge, Cody Hargett, Bryan Hargett, Andrew "Bubba" Jones, Dustin Smith, Wesley Thomas, Adam Tolar, and Matt Wilbanks.

Honorary Pallbearers are her great-grandsons: Brayden Allen, Reid Hargett, Colton Holloway, Kaden Jones, Turner Smith, Caden Thomas, Jackson Tolar, and Jack Wilbanks.
