Mr. William Thomas “Buddy” Ferrell, 83, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North MS in Oxford, MS. The graveside service will be Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Shiloh Cemetery with Bro. Mike Daniels officiating.

Buddy was born on May 23, 1940, to the late Zula Mae Taylor and Thomas Alva Ferrell. He was a resident of North Mississippi Regional Center for 30 years, finding joy and purpose working for Lafayette Industries. A lifelong resident of Oxford, Buddy was an avid Ole Miss fan and beloved member of North Oxford Baptist Church. For birthdays and holidays, Buddy’s gift request never changed. He would proudly tell you that he wanted a new watch, and was always excited to add another one to his collection. He could sit and listen to music for hours, but most of all, Buddy loved to sit on the porch, watching and waving as folks drove by. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Frank Evans and his great-nephew, Cameron Cooper.

Buddy is survived by his sister, Virginia Evans of Oxford, MS; nieces, Lee Ann Cooper and her husband, Phil, of Oxford, MS and Doris Hodge and her husband, Mack, of Pontotoc, MS; and his great-nephew, Kevin Cooper of Oxford, MS.
