Lawrence Letson
Unity Community-Lawrence R. Letson, age 90, passed from this life on Saturday December 30, 2023 at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility. He was a faithful member of the Unity Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher of the mens Sunday School class for many years. He was a farmer early on and later retired from Day-Brite Lighting where he served as supervisor of the fabrication dept. for over 47 years. After his retirement he and Jo Ann liked to travel to Branson, MO and the Smokey Mountains.
Services will be Monday at 1 pm at the Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Knight officiating. Burial will be in the Unity cemetery.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Susan Marie Williams & Cliff of Unity, Alice Faye Holcomb & Tony of Unity and Elizabeth Ann Johnson & Mike of Springhill, a son David Letson & Terran of the Unity Community, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, a brother Johnny Letson & Sandra, sisters, Jean Knight & Rev. Dennis and Betty Heavener & George.
When we lose somebody we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann his oldest daughter Judy Lampkin his parents J.A. & Lucille Letson and many other family and friends.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers
Visitation will be Monday from 11 am until 1 pm at the Unity Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude or Cancer research.
