Mavelene Lindsey

Wheeler- Ora Mavelene Woodruff Lindsey 84, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on January 28, 2024. She was a very faithful and active member of the Wheeler United Methodist Church until her health declined. She was a dedicated employee of the Endoscopy Lab at NMMC until her retirement in 2004. She enjoyed serving her community and others, cooking, reading, doing puzzles and crosswords, but most importantly spending time with her beloved family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Hall and Bro. Danny Rowland officiating. Burial will be in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her son Steve Lindsey (Elisha) of Guntown, daughters Jan Criswell (John) of Wheeler, Nan Nanney (Eric) of Baldwyn, grandchildren Riley Criswell (Christy), Brooke Lindsey, Kali Nanney, Reagan Christian (Logann), Chloe Nanney, bonus grandchildren Josh Null, Monica Porterfield (Patrick) Erika Robertson (Dewayne), Nick Sanders, Shane Sanders (Chasity), great grandchildren John Clark and Indie Criswell, Parks Christian, bonus great grandchildren Carson and Case Null, Brayden Daniels, Iva, Ada and Ona Robertson, Alden and  Randall Sanders & Anna Rose Work, sisters Loreda Harrison (Mike), Marie Maxey, Brenda Cochran (Danny), Glenda Alexander (Wayne), a special nephew Pete Lindsey and a life long friend Betty Glover.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Billy Lindsey, parents George and Velma Woodruff, sister Louise White and brother Pete Woodruff.

Pallbearers are Riley Criswell, Logann Christian, Bill Glover, Bill Woodruff, Richard Woodruff, Andy Maxey and Pete Lindsey. Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Park and the former pastors of Wheeler United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be 11-2 Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Waters Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wheeler United Methodist Church CLC in her memory.
