Jimmy C. Bennett
Madison, AL – Jimmy Charles Bennett, 87, passed at his home with his wife by his side on Monday, April 08, 2024 in Madison, AL, after a long illness. He was born September 27,1936 in Tremont, MS to the late Wilburn F. Bennett and Jesker Lewis Bennett. He retired from Day Brite Lighting at age 62. Jimmy lived on their farm from 1949 until 2018 when he and his wife moved to Madison, AL. He served in the Army and national Guard for 6 years, receiving many awards for his service. Jimmy was a member of Saltillo Baptist Church.
Services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:00 a. m. with Jerry Greene, Donnie Greene and Hugh Green officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park in Verona, MS.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, LaNetter N. Bennett of Madison, AL; one step-daughter, LaTonia Clemons of Arab, AL; one step-son, Jay Westmoreland (Christy); three grandchildren, Will Clemons (Samantha) of Guntersville, Al; Harlee Machnica (Tyler) of Madison, AL and Colton Westmoreland of Madison, AL; one great-grandson, Jamison Machnica of Madison,Al; host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesker Lewis Bennett and Wilburn F. Bennett and one sister, Opal Bennett.
Pallbearers will be Jay Westmoreland, Colton Westmoreland, Tyler Machnica, Brad Carter, Thomas Mize and Terry Bentley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Caldwell, Tommy White, Dean White, Denis Carr, Gerald Bishop and Michael Hamner.
Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a. m. until service time @ 11:00 a.m.
