Gearldine Glover, 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024. She was the daughter and first child born to Jack and Gennilou Griggs on December 29th, 1941 in Baldwyn, Mississippi.

She worked with Genesco for several years and then retired and worked at a Family Grocery Store.

Gearldine poured her heart and soul into her work and all the people she worked with absolutely loved her. Gearldine touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel so important and special. Gearldine loved to be in the kitchen with her mom and sister, Jackie baking and canning were their specialties. Most will fondly remember Gearldine for her delicious cakes and fried pies.She was an active member of the Gilmore Chapel Methodist Church and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.

Gearldine is survived by her, son Jeffery Glover, wife Bonnie Glover and granddaughter Samantha McClendon and her sister Jackie Ingram, husband Jimmy Ingram and son Brad Ingram, wife Phyliss Ingram.

Gearldine is preceeded in death by her husband of many years, C. A. Glover, parents, Gennilou Guin Griggs and Jack Griggs, and brother Roy D. Griggs.

We know we will miss her but that she will be with us always, looking after us, guiding us, and keeping us in her prayers from above. Thank you all for sharing your memories and honoring my beloved mother.

Family, friends, and others are invited to to reminisce and honor the life of Gearldine at the Visitation and Funeral Services, with the Reverend’s Douglas Kitchens, Ray Guin, and Keith Thomas officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, April 12th from noon to 2 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home Inc., 309 N. 2nd Street, Baldwin, Mississippi 38824. Funeral services will be at 2:00.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Barnes, Nick Burns, Ronnie Bishop, Phillip Cantrell, Randy Griggs and Kim Glissen. Honorary pallbearers are William Barnes, Randall Guin, Mitchell Hood,

Randy Hood, Brad Ingram and Eddie Johnson.
