Emma Jean Smithey
Dumas – Emma Jean Smithey, 88, passed away on April 29, 2024 at the Union County Health and Rehab. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, vegetables and sewing. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Dumas Methodist Church.
Services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Friday, May 03, 2024 @ 11:00 a. m. with Bro. Joseph Cholak officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Jean Smithey and Glenda Wilbanks (Bill); son, Billy Don Smithey; grandchildren, Tonya Edwards, Jessica Edwards, Christopher Edwards, Keith Knowles, Matthew Knowles. Steven Knowles, , Jeremy Smithey, Caitlin Mauney, Billie Jo Rinehart, Jeffery Smithey and Glinda Cholak; (21) great-grandchildren and (5) great-great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in her parents, Alvie Lenard and Vera Lorette Chism Roberts; husband, Billy Joe Smithey; daughter, Linda Garrison; sister, Mary Lee Thomas; brothers, William R. Roberts and Alvie Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Smithey, Matthew Knowles, Steven Knowles, Austin Mclarty, Nathan Stanley and Brandon Edwards.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeffery Smithey, Michael Page and Christopher Edwards.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at Waters Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
