Linda P. Lancaster

Ms. Linda P. Lancaster, 76, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. The funeral service will be Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. David Ard officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Toccopola, MS. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M.

Linda was born on September 8, 1948, in Oxford, MS to the late Glin and Geneva Bridwell Phillips. She enjoyed her time working at the University of Mississippi Graduate School where she was a graduate admissions specialist. Her faith in the Lord was ever present throughout her life and she found great joy and peace in her salvation as a Christian. As a longtime member of Toccopola Baptist Church, she served as the church clerk from 1992-2006. She and her longtime companion, Dwight Berner shared many happy years together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Millie Phillips.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Lynn Hodge and her husband, Neal of Oxford; a son, Jamie Glenn Heard, Jr. of Oxford; a special child, Katie McWhiter; three sisters, Deborah Neal and her husband, James of Water Valley, MS, Brenda Brannan and her husband, Bub of Oxford and Kathy Watson and her husband, Tommy of Oxford; a brother, Sammy Glin Phillips and his wife, Joyce of Batesville, MS; four grandchildren, Brandan Collums, Brittannee Haston, Dalton Heard and Dylan Chase Phelps and four great grandchildren, Macy Kole Haston, Sydney Blair Haston, Greyson Lake Heard and Brees Larkin Collums.
