Samuel “Bobo” Bishop

Mr. Samuel “Bobo” Bishop, 69, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his home in Etta, MS. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel at Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Irvin officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bobo was born on January 8, 1957, in Lafayette County, MS, to the late William and Francis Bishop. He was a long time and faithful member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. Bobo worked as a machine operator for Georgia Pacific for over twenty-five years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He loved the outdoors and could often be found camping and fishing on many banks of water.

In addition to his parents, Bobo was preceded in death by his brothers, Frankie James Bishop and Lamar Bishop; his sister, Clara “Mae” Taylor; nephew, Andy Taylor; and niece, Tonya Garrison.

Bobo is survived by his brothers, Dan Bishop (Vickie) of Pinedale, MS, Terry Bishop of Etta, MS, Jimmy Bishop of Etta, MS; his sisters, Peggy Brewer (Henry) of Etta, MS, Barbara Russell (Jimmy) of Pontotoc, MS; and nieces that were so special to him, Amy Kimble, Judy Bishop, Frances Bishop, and Kricket Bishop.
