McConner Theodore Moore, Jr. (affectionally known as Connie). transitioned from this earth on, Thursday, November 5, 2020 at his residence in Jackson, Mississippi. “Connie’’ returned to his heavenly home, after a valiant battle with a long illness. He was one of two sons born to the loving union of his father, Rev. McConner T. Moore and mother, Georgie Mae Moore. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in the health challenges he faced and ultimately gave him peace. 

“Connie” accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Darden Chapel Missionary Baptist Church family. He was educated in Okolona and Oxford, Mississippi. Like his mother, “Connie” will always be remembered as a gifted musician. Always close to his family, “Connie” leaves to cherish his memories, his brother Cecil S. Moore (Linda) of Stone Mountain, GA; his niece Lakesha Bland and nephew Harrison Moore; his grandnieces Layla K. Flakes, Jada S. Flakes and Kaylen A. Flakes; his aunts Verniece Standfield (Gary, Ind.), Winifred Harrison (Dallas, TX),  Rev.  Merthell C. Sanders (Baton Rouge, LA) and Earline Larry (Racine, WI); and uncles  Jerry Cunningham (Olona), Birmingham, AL, Olinford Cunningham (Edna), Okolona, MS, and a close first cousin Walter Cunningham (Linda) Aberdeen, MS. He is also survived by two uncles, Omar Moore of Okolona, Mississippi and Arthur J. Moore of Racine, Wisconsin. He is survived by four aunts, Minnie Elliott of St Louis, Missouri, Bessie White of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Cora Johnson of Heyward, California, and Geraldine M. Brown (Robert) of Glenn Allen, Virginia. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. McConner T. Moore and mother, Georgie Mae Cunningham Moore, grandparents Willie and Gertrude Cunningham and Willie Moore and Sena Moore (McConner); his uncles Sidney Cunningham, Willie C. Cunningham, Willie A Moore, Jr., Levert C. Moore, George Moore, Oscar Moore, John P. Moore, Sr. and aunts Rhonda Jean Cunningham. Angie Moore, Lelia Bryant, Martha Moore and Odessa McIntosh, and Francis Ford. 

He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.

  1. I am deeply sorry for your loss and would like to share a scripture with you. The scripture is found at Acts 24:15 which speaks of a resurrection. Yes God has promised to bring our loved ones back to life, one day in the near future. Many find it comforting to know that they can see their loved ones again. I hope this message brings the family comfort.
