Randy Martin Nelson

November 23, 1965 – December 18, 2020

Randy Martin Nelson, age 55, of Water Valley, MS died unexpectedly Friday, December 18, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. One of three children, he was born in Dallas TX on November 23, 1965 to Virgil and Carolyn (Jones) Nelson. He was the kind of man that never met a stranger, and was always willing to help people in need. He worked for The University of Mississippi as a truck driver, Grit restaurant in Taylor, MS, and operated a lawn care service. He loved cutting grass and fishing, so much so that he dreamt of becoming a famous fisherman.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Services will follow at 12:00 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Donnie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery.

Randy is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Mary Ann Nelson; one brother, Virgil Nelson (Geana); and one sister, Debera Vanderford (Darrell) all of Water Valley, MS.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Daniel Nelson.

  1. Dear Nelson Family, I am deeply sorry for your loss, and would like to share a scripture from the Bible. The scripture is found at Acts 24:15. Here the Bible speaks of a “resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.” This means that one day God will bring loved ones who have passed back to life, right here on the earth. Many people look forward to when this promise from God will be fulfilled, and find it comforting to know that they will be able to see their loved ones again. I hope this message finds you well, and brings the family comfort during this difficult time.
