Smithville/Fulton- Mozelle Aldridge Wilson, 92, passed away on July 17, 2021 at the Meadows in Fulton, MS. She was born in Tremont, MS on January 21, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Garvin Pierce and Missouri Harris Pierce.
Mozelle grew up in the country and attended school in Mt. Moriah, in a one room schoolhouse. She worked as a seamstress at Delta Trousers in Okolona, MS. Mozelle was kind and a member of the Fulton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was baptized January 6, 1952.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, and loved to cook for others. She was a devout family women who thoroughly loved to spend time with her family. Mozelle’s children and grandchildren were her most prized accomplishments in her life. She enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music including: Kingdom Melodies, Singing to Jehovah, Western Navaho Trails, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and the Sons of Pioneers.
Mozelle was a very mild-mannered and easy going woman. She lived her life guided by the Bible’s principles. Mozelle was serious at times and was an avid believer in reading books and self-educating. A couple of her close friends were Josie Shumpert , Lisa Morris and Sarah Vasser.
She will be missed dearly by her family and the memories made will be cherished forever.
Mozelle is survived by her daughter, Brenda S. Butler (Billy) of Okolona; two sons, Jerry E. Aldridge (Ladonna) of Smithville, David J. Aldridge (Kathy) of Saltillo; sister, Varnelle Jones of Greenwood Springs; brothers, Lecil Dee Pierce (Louise) of Tupelo, Rodger Pierce of Smithville; grandchildren, Susanna Cruthirds (Joel), Timothy J. Aldridge (Diane), Matthew W. Aldridge (Brittany), Amanda Pillow (Brian), Tiffany Aldridge, James Aldridge (Raya); great-grandchildren, Katelyn Aldridge, MacKenzie Aldridge, Joanna Cruthirds, Austin Pillow, Jacob Pillow, Evan Pillow, and Lilly Pillow; great-great-grandchild, Annie; special niece, Lynette Pierce; a host of nieces and nephews.
Mozelle was preceded in death by her grandson, Gerald Edward Aldridge; 1st husband Jewel E. Aldridge; 2nd husband Grady Wilson; sisters, Exie Pierce Steel and Olean Pierce Dove; brothers, Cecil Virgil Pierce and nephew Larry Pierce.
Private family services for Mrs. Wilson have been set for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Bethel-Turon Cemetery in Smithville, MS. The Funeral service will be officiated by Brother Jerry Aldridge.
A Zoom Memorial service will be on August 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Brother David Chrestman will be officiating. Opening prayer will be done by Andy Wilson, Jr., Chairman will be Russell Ratliff, and there will be an interview conducted by Jimmy Waters. Closing prayer will be given by Billy Hood. I was so saddened to hear of Aunt Mozelle’s passing. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out and will be greatly missed. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏 Love, Rita Kay
So sorry to hear about Ms. Mozell. I just found out a few minutes ago. She was always such a sweet and caring woman to me and my son. She always shares books with me. Such a sweet lady. Her presence added so much happiness to my Papaw Grady’s life.
