Marvin Fowler

June 7, 1950 ~ September 5, 2021 (age 71)

WEST POINT – Mr. Marvin Thomas Fowler, 71, died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the North MS Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1950, on the farm where he was raised, in Nettleton, MS, to Vester T. “Jiggs” Fowler and Winnie L. Young Fowler.  He was a graduate of Nettleton High School and was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1969 to 1978. He served 3 tours of Vietnam during his 9 years of service. He continued his studies in the military earning credits toward a BS degree. Marvin worked as a truck driver for over 40 years.  He enjoyed fishing, dune buggies, and 4-wheel riding with his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Wren, MS on Sandhill Road at “Bill’s Hill.”

Marvin was preceded in death by his father and his mother, who also died the same day he did, Sunday, September 5, 2021.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Melissa Van Rossum (Johnny Schmidt) of Diamondhead, MS, Angela Keeler (Tim Jamison) of Okolona, and Mary Katherine Fowler (Robert Davis) of Jacksonville, NC; 2 sons, Richard Fowler of Tupelo and Adam McAllister (Kristen) of Morrisville, PA; 1 step-daughter, Billie Ann Young (Tommy) of Columbus; his brother, Bill Malone of Aberdeen; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
