Roumalette McQuary Thrasher, age 92, of Starkville, Mississippi passed away at her residence on August 27, 2021, with her husband Charlie Thrasher and her daughter Gina Thrasher by her side.

She was born on October 9, 1928, in Woodland, Mississippi to Marion Monroe McQuary and Rosa Lee Jennings McQuary. In 1991 Roumalette and her husband Charlie became members of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in the Bradley Community. She loved singing in the choir. When asked what her favorite hymn was, she always said, “I love them all”! She had a special place in her heart for all of the young children that she taught in Sunday School many years ago. She was known as “Mrs. Romie”. She loved her husband more than words can say. She was an amazing wife to Charlie Thrasher for 75 years. One thing that stood out about Roumalette was her strong faith. She never claimed pain through the years. When asked how she was doing she would always smile and say, “I’m fine”.

Services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Visitation will be from 10-11 with the funeral service at 11:00. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Park in Starkville, MS. Services will be conducted by Mike Sanders.

Charlie and Gina would like to give a special thanks to the Legacy Hospice staff, Deborah Ellington, Bobbie White, Wanda McGee and pastor, Mike Sanders. Also, we would like to thank the friends and relatives for the visits, text messages, telephone calls, food and prayers.
