Billy Francis
Guntown- Billy Francis, age 80, passed away on Friday April 26, 2024 at the Baptist Hospital in New Albany. He was a people person, and adored by all who met him. Billys most enjoyed hobbies were cooking, ballroom dancing, watching westerns and ole miss football. He also loved spending time with his bonus granddaughter and his dogs Buddy and Sissy. He was a very proud former Air Force pilot and a former fireman at the Tupelo Fire Department. He was a current and devoted employee of Brices crossroad museum and battlefield.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Walker and husband Scott, step-daughter Teresa Westbrook and husband Rob, and son Larry Francis. A special friend of 12 years Karen Parker. Caregivers Eddie and Patsy Carnathan. 3 grandchildren, 2 Nieces Tammy Zepeda and Traci Smith and a large amount of cousins. Bonus children Ray Parker and Kasey Parker (Jenkins) and her husband Stephen Jenkins. And his bonus granddaughter Ellery Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Corrine Comer Francis, and his wife Era Francis.
Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 2, 2024 at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Rob Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
